German Milk Bars


The Cake:

Preheat your oven to 325°F

Layer a 9 inch baking pan with parchment paper

Beat egg whites until stiff

Mix egg yolks and sugar until fluffy

Add water, oil, flour, confectioners sugar and cocoa powder and mix until smooth

Fold in stiff egg whites

Pour mixture into baking pan

Bake for 10-12 minutes

Let cool completely, then cut in half, so that you can fill the middle)

The Filling:

Whip heavy cream until stiff

In a large bowl mix (with an electric mixer) the soft cream cheese, honey and lemon juice

Fold in whipped cream

Now Spread the cheese mixture evenly on one half of the cake, put the other half on top and place in the fridge for about 2 hours (even better over night)
