  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • plastic wrap
  • wire rack

Ingredients

For the Dry Mix:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Wet Mix:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the Candy:

  • 1/3 cup crushed Reese’s Pieces
  • 1/3 cup whole Reese’s Pieces to top the cookies

Instructions

For Dry Mix:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt with a whisk until everything is blended.

For Wet Mix:

  • In a large mixing bowl, use a mixer to beat the egg with the brown and granulated sugar on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract, mixing until the batter is well combined and smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until a smooth dough forms.
  • Carefully fold in the crushed Reese’s Pieces, ensuring they’re evenly distributed in the dough.
  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours to firm it up.

Baking Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop out approximately 1 ½ tablespoons of the dough for each cookie and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet. Top each dough ball with a few whole Reese’s Pieces, gently pressing them into the dough.
  • Bake the cookies for about 11 to 12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a minute, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
