- 5 cups mashed strawberries
- 7 cups granulated sugar
- 1 box of SURE JELL fruit pectin
- 1 teaspoon butter
Begin by preparing your canning equipment as outlined in the previous post.
In a large saucepan, combine 5 cups of mashed strawberries.
Add one box of SURE JELL fruit pectin and 1 teaspoon of butter. Heat the mixture until it reaches a rolling boil, stirring continuously.
Stir in 7 cups of granulated sugar and return to a rolling boil.
Continue boiling for 1 minute, keeping the mixture stirred throughout.
Pour the jam into sterilized jars.
Clean the rims of the jars and secure with lids and rings.
Allow the jars to seal on their own or process in a water bath for 10 minutes.
