10 Minute Tuna Cakes

It’s Monday again my friends, so I usually post a healthier recipe. These Tuna Cakes are so super easy to make, low carb, low calorie, but so delicious. Perfect for a lazy Monday dinner, because I know we all hate Monday, the first day after the weekend, the day you wish not to happen every Sunday haha

It’s also a pretty cheap dish. Tuna on sale is as cheap as 50 cents and the remaining ingredients you probably have at home all the time anyway. Feel free to serve it as you see it here or just with some dipping sauce. The recipe makes 4 cakes, that’s enough for 2 people.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (5 oz.) tuna in water, well drained
  • ½ teaspoon garlic
  • ¼ cup shredded onion
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce, optional
  • 2 egg whites
  • ¼ cup plain bread crumbs (or grounded oats)

Directions:

In a medium bowl bring together all ingredients and mix very well

Form 4 patties out of it

Spray large skillet with cooking spray, bring over medium heat and cook tuna cakes until browned (about 3 minutes each side)

Serve on some lettuce, with harbiled eggs and/or some cheese bread sticks (mine are made out of WW toast and fat reduced Mexican cheese)
