Grilled Sweet & Spicy Chili Garlic Wings

Using spicy sambal, honey, and a hint of fragrant basil, these grilled chicken wings bring a sweet heat reminiscent of Thai flavors, all in one bite.

Ingredients:

  • 4 lb chicken wings
  • Garlic Chili Wing Sauce
  • 3/4 cup sambal oelek
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

Garnish

  • 1 jalapeƱo pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Directions :

Remove the chicken wings from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature as your grill is preheating.

Heat grill to medium heat. Place wings on the grill, covered, for about 15 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally, until skin is crispy and meat is cooked through to 165 degrees F.

While the wings are grilling, make the sauce. Mix all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to boil and then reduce to a simmer until the sauce starts to thicken, about 3-5 minutes, then set aside.

When the wings have finished cooking, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings, reserving 1/4 cup of the sauce, and tossing to coat all the wings.

Transfer dressed wings to a serving platter, drizzle the rest of the sauce over then, and garnish with jalapeno slices and lime wedges.
