Ingredients:
- 1 lb. butter
- 1 1/2 lbs. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 lb. sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tbsp. Brandy
- 1/4 lb. blanched and ground almonds
- 1/8 c. chopped citron (about 2 tbsp.)
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine butter, flour, and sugar, egg yolks, Brandy, almonds, and citron. Roll the cookies out on a lightly floured board to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut out with cookie cutters and bake in a 350°F oven until they reach a light yellow color.
Note: You can brush these with the whites of eggs or heavy cream and dust them with plain or colored sugar, cinnamon or almonds before baking.
